Concern behind Lord Ganapathy statue

Chemistry of lord Ganapathy statue cause environmental issue, we will concern the use of ECO  friendly statue making material with the grace of Lord Ganesh. 🙏

Every year after the Vinayagar Chaturthi festival ends, officials from government agencies and NGOs are faced with the daunting task of cleaning up tons of debris and garbage from the city's beaches.

Environmentalists have repeatedly pointed out the dangers of using plaster of Paris (PoP) in the creation of idols, but so far there is no clear policy on this. Several governments have tried to ban the sale of PoP idols, but the move has met with stiff opposition.

“If we look at the chemical makeup of PoP, this material is developed by heating gypsum to temperatures between 250 and 300 degrees Fahrenheit. It turns back to gypsum when it comes in contact with water. is a natural substance, and Idol Makers considers it harmless, on the contrary, it is suggested that PoP and the chemical paints used to color idols contain heavy metals, which are toxic, "

Paint used contains heavy metals such as lead and cadmium, which can lead to neurological disorders and cancer.

once PoP idols are submerged in water, whether in a river or sea, the heavy metals present in the idols dissolve in the water and enter the food chain. eaten through marine species and agricultural products.

If PoP idols are submerged, the material turns into gypsum and damages the ecology of water bodies, and reduces dissolved oxygen. The toxic chemicals used to paint the idols also increase the toxic content in the water.
